Christmas week has begun and I must say that it has not started with a bang. My broth and his girlfriend Emma arrived on Thursday which myself and the children were so excited about. Upon their arrival I became sick and it seems to get a little worse day by day. I told my brother that I would be completely over this by the time I come to Iola so keep the prayers coming for a quick recovery.

As you all know I do a daily activity with the kids for each holiday and this time I am having a hard time keeping up. Thanks to Dennis and Emma, are week got started with a lot of fun for the kids by going to Union station and seeing the big train set that they have. Brenton was in love with the train. I think he could have spent hours looking at it. We also went to Whooville for the kids to meet the Grinch and take part in some of the activities there. They enjoyed all of this but weren't so excited about the shopping afterwards. We finished up and were home to get them in bed for an early night night which they seriously needed.

The next morning we woke up and made snowman and snowflake muffins for breakfast. I am glad the kids had fun because they were a bit of a disaster. Poor Dennis and Emma were woke up to the smoke alarms going off. Something I had baked must had spilled over the pan and was on the bottom of the oven which over cooked and started smoking. Once the muffins were done I tried to get them out of the pans which they stuck to. I think they needed to cool all of the way before taken out since there was some detail to them but who wants fresh muffins cold? In the end it turned out okay and did not slow the kids down from eating them.

I have also included some pictures of us seeing the Christmas lights. The day after my brother arrived, Bill, my mom,Dennis, Emma, the kids, and myself all went out to tour the lights. They have some very neat houses here. I have pictures of the Brenton and Danielle's favorite one.

I will keep the pictures coming this week. I just hope that I have the energy to keep up with everyone. The bad thing is I have not even begun my Christmas baking. That will probably be a few activities this week.

Stay posted for more.
Love, Nicole
